I just finished Atsuhiro Tomioka’s written episodes of Digimon Adventure: (2020) and his episode 1 of Digimon: Ghost Game. Frankly, he made the Adventure era surprisingly more interesting…🧐

According to it’s YMMV page on TV Tropes, though, more emphasis was put on action sequences with much improved animation than the original, at the expense of the character development of each respective member of the Digi-Destined which was the original’s saving grace. The upside though is Tomioka made the effort to make Tai more of a mature, courageous character, at the level he had grown up into by the V-Tamer manga.
