horse encounter !

At first,when you hear the fait screaming in the distance, you wonder if maybe you start to make things up here in the frozen,lonely middle of nowhere . However, the voices echo through the storm again and again, a bit nearer each time, and you realize that you are apparently not alone out here as you hear pained,exhausted breathing and the scent of blood suddenly hits your nostrils. from between the snow-covered rocks, a large figure emerges , a stallion who seems to be fleeing from something. Hes so caught up in the chase that he almost crashes you,and for a moment your eyes meet as you hear his raspy ,whispered plea. "Don't...tell them....please....I beg you..." As quick as he appeared, he jumps away and vanishes between the dark cliffs, and the last thing you notice before he is out of sight is the broken arrow sticking out from his left shoulder, and several long, thin shot wounds all over his body. He has left a trail of blood in the snow, but the storm covers the red within heartbeats. And then, you get to realize who the stallion ment with "them", as a group of horses appears on the horizon, coming nearer quickly. They are heavily armored guards, two mares and a stallion, wielding swords and crossbows. They notice you and gallop over, greeting you with a quick nod. "Miss, have you seen a stallion around here, tall guy in a cloak? " Its clear that they have been hunting the stallion who almost run you over, the stallion with the fearful eyes. You...

… cover for the stallion, and send the guards in the wrong direction ! There was something about the pleading in his face that somehow gives you the feeling he should not get caught.
… tell the guards where the stallion went! If the guards are after him, they most likely have a reason!
...feel conflicted about which side to pick, and simply ask the guards why they hunt the guy?
