Magical Girl of Evolution - Arwin

an entry for character design contest by a local digital comic publisher, Mangamon.
Theme : Magical Girl
*I manage to snatch the 1st place in that contest ^__^

The concept I came up for this girl is "DNA", "Evolution", "Tribal", and "Chimera". Also inspired by a novel I read long time ago titled "Animorph".
Instead of the traditional girly and frilly like card captor sakura or madoka, or mecha and armored like Nanoha, I choose to go tribal route.
After all, a shaman girl is technically still "Magical Girl" XD

So basically, the background story is a girl who went around the world with her mother, Suzzane a world renown archaeologist, found an ancient artifact containing a fragment of key to "Akashic Records". One of her mother's assistant, Owen, betray their team and recklessly partially open the gate, releasing fragment of the records which then create a monster called Chimera. That man manage to claim the Grimoire of Extinction, a major fragment of the Records and run, leaving his team to die in the hand of the chimeras he created.

Before she died, Suzzane manage to snatch a single Grimoire from the gate, Grimoire of Genesis, and give it to her daughter to protect her. That book give Arwin an ability to take animals DNA by touching them and gain extraordinary abilities based on that animal unique abilities.

From that day, Arwin went back home and live with her father, a scientist and director of national museum. Guided by the living and sentient, Grimoire of Genesis, or in short 'Gen', Arwin fought Chimeras created and controled by EXtinct, an organization founded by Owen to find a the true key to The Akashic Records.

Arwin has two main abilities :
Genetic Splice - an ability to record the genetic information of an animal into Gen by touching that animal. And transform her body gaining the special ability of that animal.

Genetic Slash - with her "Staff of Double Helix", Arwin can separate or snatch away animals and their genetic information from Chimera, robbing that animal abilities from that Chimera.
