Description

Day 19 of Dinovember 2021

A toothed albatross on steroids.

Alright, it doesn't have actual teeth, and it isn't an albatross either. But never mind that, look at the size of that thing! It's huge: 6.4 m wingspan, and that's a conservative estimate. Considering the fact that Argentavis might not have been as big as previously thought, this makes Pelagornis a contender for the bird with the largest wingspan. The azhdarchid pterosaurs still laugh in its face though. With wings like that there wouldn't have been a lot of flapping, and a lot of gliding. Taking off might have been a challenge too.

Digital sketch, Cintiq and CSP.
