Description

Entry number five in my Valar series.
Tolkien describes Nessa as swift as an arrow, capable of outrunning wild deer, and unmatched in the arts of dance. This one was an interesting challenge as I moved away from the Valar tied to the elements (air, stone, etc), although I will return to them later, and moved towards more ethereal characters. Nessa’s attributes of speed and dancing proved harder to adapt as abstract concepts, but I think I came up with a solution. Although possessing different characteristics, the goddess Diana the hunter served as a primary inspiration aesthetically. Drawn on iPad Pro in Adobe Fresco
