Dracula by Soposoposopo on DeviantArt (original) (raw)

Fun fact: Bram Stoker's original count Dracula is not described as a Bela Lugosi looking, black-haired, widow-peaked, speaks-with-a-heavy-accent dandy, neither is he cloaked in all-red and on the younger side like you can see above, but a freakishly tall, greyish, bushy-haired, moustached, speaks-perfect-English dandy.

So, no, I didn't do much to be faithful to the novel. This is more in line with the Gary Oldman design from 1992 (the red and white fascinates me to no end), with a hint of Castlevania thrown in, but more than anything this was influenced by late Mark English whose interpretation proved that in the case of a character as iconic as Vlad Tepes, too specific details veer away from the idea of the character.
