Hello everyone! (:
I'm still alive, yay x) I havent drawn (or uploaded) anything in ages, so when I started working on this picture, I actually felt like I had forgotten everything I once knew.

I actually had the rough sketch for this lying around for mooonth now. Last year (yes, this long) I discovered and loved the idea behind it, being a charity artbook and distributing all the money it gets from its sales to st. jude's hospital. Next to a list of invited artists, they are hosting a contest so give up to 20 artists the chance to also get featured in it. I love the theme for the artworks - triumph and the four seasons - and since summer is my favourite season and I love warm colours, I went with it.

I wanted to paint a picture that gives off a warm and happy athmosphere and hope I succeeded (: I love summer, the beach and the sea and hence drew a group of friends having a fun, relaxing day at the beach, each doing what they enjoy most at the moment (and things I personally like doing too, such as snorkeling/diving, tanning and playing in the water 8)).
Because I wanted to create a colourful and interesting piece, I drew a couple of different scenes, which in retrospect may not have been the greatest of ideas, cause I doubt you can properly see all the detail in DinA4 oh well.
All in all I'm quite happy with how it turned out after such a long hiatus. Ofc there are some anatomical mistakes and I went a bit overboard with the overlay layers, but I had lots of fun painting this, and hope some people will have fun looking at this <
