Fairplay Reference (NOT MY ART) by Soulsplosion on DeviantArt (original) (raw)
I've needed a reference for this boi for a while but never got around to it so I commissioned AniutqaART because they're A+

World: Noodles
Origin: The Chess Jungle
Name: Fairplay
Gender/age/etc: N/A, beasty
Appearance: A 12-foot tall, top-heavy reptilian-looking (but smooth-skinned) creature with a strange, eyeless, noseless skull for a face. It has sharp, powerful claws, long prickly spines, and a black tongue/mouth.
=========================================
Affiliation: Antagonist(?)
Species: Unknown (the only one of its kind)
Personality: N/A (beasty)
Behavior: Fairplay is a mysterious creature that only appears for one purpose: To force the noodle bros back into following the path. It will remain unseen until then, and at first it is passive, preferring to stand ominously from afar as a silent warning. Its presence is a warning for the noodles to go the opposite direction, and if they ignore or confront Fairplay it will attack them ferociously and attempt to chase them back onto the path. Its skeletal face makes it impossible to read any emotion, and it's debatable whether or not it even feels any.
Abilities: The black marking on its white head is usually a pawn when at peace, but when at battle this marking will rapidly change between the shapes of every type of chess piece. The silhouette it lands on temporarily gives him a unique telekinetic power (shield, firebreath, shapeshifting, etc). It is unknown whether this is by chance (similarly to how the noodles roll dice to acquire their abilities), or if the power he acquires is intentional, and the shape simply indicates it.

- Allies: It's origins are unknown, but there is a chance that it is a tool used by Admin. It is an ally of the Watchdogs.
- Enemies: Gamemaker & Gamebreaker

Bio:
Fairplay originates from the Chess Jungle (the same 'birthplace' of Gamemaker/Gamebreaker). Its purpose seemed to be nothing more than making sure the noodles didn't go the wrong direction or wander too far off the path, and though it would tolerate a little exploration, it would not hesitate to use violence if they did not heed the warning of its presence.
While at first resistant, the noodles found that they would always be defeated by Fairplay--either chased onto the path by it (after which Fairplay will swiftly disappear) or being forcefully dragged there. Soon the noodles learned to avoid it.
While Gamebreaker never gave up on the idea of eventually defeating it, Gamemaker was more passive and thought there must be a reason for Fairplay's behavior (even coming to appreciate the fact that they would never get lost because of it).
