Love story in the laundry 01 by Spark-Mark on DeviantArt (original) (raw)

It was an ordinary Saturday afternoon in the bustling neighborhood of La Condesa in Mexico City. The sun filtered through the windows of the laundromat, casting patterns of light on the floor as the hum of washing machines and dryers filled the air. Alex, a 22-year-old with brown hair and green eyes, sat on one of the plastic chairs, scrolling through his phone while waiting for his laundry to finish. This was his weekly routine, and although doing laundry wasn't particularly exciting, he enjoyed these moments of calm.

Across the laundromat, a young man Alex hadn't seen before was loading his clothes into a washing machine. He was tall, with curly black hair and a charming smile that made Alex's stomach flutter. This young man, named Diego, was 24 and had just moved to the neighborhood. He had decided to visit the laundromat for the first time, hoping his laundry skills were enough to avoid any mishaps.

Diego, without noticing, dropped a shirt on the floor while organizing his clothes. Ever observant, Alex quickly stood up to help.

"Hey, you dropped this," Alex said, picking up the shirt and handing it to Diego.

"Oh, thanks," Diego replied with a smile, their eyes meeting for a moment that felt like forever.

They exchanged a few words about how tedious doing laundry could be and, before they knew it, they were engrossed in a conversation about their lives, interests, and the neighborhood. They discovered a shared passion for indie films and music and realized they frequented the same cafes and bookstores in the area.

The washing machines and dryers continued their cycles, but for Alex and Diego, time seemed to stand still. The connection between them was undeniable, and as they talked, the tension and chemistry grew.

Finally, the machines beeped, signaling that Alex's laundry was done. He got up to transfer his clothes to a dryer, and Diego decided to do the same.

"You know," Diego said, a bit nervously, "I'm really glad I came here today. This is my first time doing laundry in this neighborhood, and I didn't expect to meet someone so interesting."

Alex smiled, feeling a warm glow in his chest.

"I'm glad too," he replied. "Maybe we could hang out sometime? Would you like that?"

Diego nodded, his smile widening.

"I'd love to."

They finished loading the dryers and sat back down together. The conversation flowed naturally, and they felt even more connected as time passed. When the dryers finally stopped, Alex and Diego gathered their belongings, but neither seemed ready to say goodbye just yet.

As Alex folded his last shirt, he felt Diego's hand brush against his. He looked at Diego, who had a tender and determined expression.

"Can I do something I've been thinking about since I saw you?" Diego asked softly.

Alex felt his heart pound as he nodded.

Diego leaned in slowly and, with a gentle yet decisive movement, brought his lips to Alex's. The kiss was so lustful and full of promise, merging their worlds in that small corner of the laundromat. It was a magical moment, the beginning of a love story they had both dreamed of without knowing it.

When they finally pulled apart, they both smiled, knowing that kiss was just the start of something beautiful. They left the laundromat together, their hands brushing, ready to explore what the future held for them.
