Description
Soldiers of the Red Martian city of Zodanga, from the Barsoom novels.
I wanted to capture the imperialistic nature of their culture, so I used a lot of Roman influences. I also thought it would be cool if some Martian soldiers shaved and dyed their hair in imitation of the White Apes.
