Here’s Rai’s Kalosian starter, one of, if not the most prominent of them all: Shinobi! Shinobi took to being Rai’s starter surprisingly quickly, acknowledging him as his partner and friend despite his inhuman appearance. Though, Shinobi had a tendency to run off and train on his own. No matter how much Rai insisted he train with his teammates, Shinobi wanted to train by himself. Eventually, Rai had a talk with him. He discovered that Shinobi believed training on his own was best for him, as it’d allow him to focus on himself and not worry about any training partners. In response, Rai challenged Shinobi to a sparring match. Shinobi was unsure but accepted his challenge. During the match, Rai found himself learning to read Shinobi’s movements, and vice versa. Once they ended it, Shinobi realized that they had not only both grown stronger, but also a bit closer as partners. From then on, Shinobi agreed to train with the others, most of all Rai, from time to time, though usually he can be found on his own, same as always.
