(For background & lore check out this post, the others though are pretty dated at this point, ignore anything mentioning a 18cm gun)

The SKa/45 K4 family of tanks were initially introduced in 1945 as a replacement for the already dated OV/42. It feature superior protection owing to its highly slopped hull armor and better mobility. At the time it was originally fitted with a similar turret to the OV/42 mounting the long 75mm gun. In 1947 new turrets would be designed for the vehicle capable of housing heavier firepower, which gave birth to the Brakmaker and F3 (see first post).

During the modernization initiative of 1947 both the Brakmaker and F3 would be considered for upgrade. Both variants were, however, deemed 'acceptable' due to them not having the same outdated turret as the base K4. Their upgrades would be postponed until 1951, additionally owing to the Sailor's Revolution of 1950 throwing a wrench in funds allocation.

New units began rolling off the line towards the end of 1951, receiving the new designation Spj. SKL/51 S4 Korossa to differentiate them from their older counterparts.

The Korossa is intended as a light, mobile artillery piece ideal for supporting infantry or busting fortifications. The 15cm howitzer lacks the range of the Genljuda's cannon but trades that for the ability to quickly relocate after firing; moving and supporting front line units as they advance. While not specifically designed to fight other tanks, it was equipped with a punchy HEAT shell that was capable of defeating most armored vehicles it was expected to run in to.
