Heads and Hearts - Thane and Morgan Shepard - BnW by STan94 on DeviantArt (original) (raw)

Hi there, really lovely piece of work you've done here. I looked at both your pieces, and really think this one actually works a whole lot better. The more narrow field of vision makes for a far more intimate setting, draws attention to the flowers (a nice detail that might otherwise be missed in the larger picture where there's a lot visually going on) *and* hides the fact that in the original, the reflection in the water isn't quite right. Not that many people would probably notice that, lol, that's just something I have an eye for!

Turning the picture greyscale again makes some of the nicer little details of your picture stand out like the flowers, but also the bark of the tree, and the differences between the skins of the two subjects (you notice more that Thane's is more reflective and smooth, for example).

Anyway... I admin a Facebook page called 'Mass Effect Female Shepard' and I'd be honoured to add this to our albums there, if you were willing? I'd cite you as artist, and link back to your original here on DA in the photo's caption. If this appeals to you, let me know! I'm doing the rounds today, gathering permissions. Better to have more than I need, than see something I like and want to post at the time but not have permission to do so!

My page is an equality-focused page, where I will advocate the welfare of the most vulnerable as I see them wherever possible. I have zero tolerance towards the expression of opinions that, in my personal assessment, stand to hurt people who receive that opinion (comment threats are platforms to access wider audiences), on a deeper personal level than *not* allowing the expression of that opinion will hurt the person who owns it.

Unless a comment is outrageously prejudiced, however, I will likely allow that comment to stand - but not without rebuttal or discussion or criticism on my part, and I will have the last say! In other words: it's freedom of speech that comes with the price tag of responsibility and accountability.

Facebook pages, like any other publicity outlet/media platform, are dependent upon content - content that artists and other contributors provide. Publicity may benefit artists, but they still have a right to chose who else benefits from the sharing of their work!
