LiteratureBirds of a Feather“Look, I found a clue!” Vadan said those words in a tone to match the sunlight painting the forest’s trees. The rocky road almost dusting over bare footprints, birds sharing unflinching eye contact with the traveling pair, and the tan backpack with just one strap intact were reminders of their mission and time’s precious state… still, Vadan opened the backpack and removed its contents one by one with the smile of a youngster pitching a tent for his fellow scouts. When one of the birds broke rank to take a chunk of white hair off Vadan’s head, his golden eyes did not break away from the work he was doing. Zakura approached the bird once it had retreated to its branch, whipping her violet hair and extending her shadow to touch the creature’s. She was stopped by the feeling of mud on her hand, brought on from Vadan’s earlier hunt for the pair of binoculars he’d dropped. “I have a funny feeling ticking them off will only mean more pattern baldness for us. LiteratureFormal Request (Pt. 1) Alisa felt a tickle of guilt over what she was doing, but it wasn’t pesky enough to slow her down. What did linger was pity, because Kohav hadn’t shown any hesitation upon being told that Luka was a dear friend of hers. Envy crept in as well, mixed with longing for the days when she could’ve been so carelessly trusting. Zakura had told Alisa that the guardians were never to be underestimated, that any one of them could overpower her with ease… but the tone of Kohav’s voice was too much like a child who hadn’t been exposed to enough of reality’s soul-staining venom. Alisa doubted Kohav was leading her into some sort of trap, but she was certain his sister would be somebody to truly watch her step around. But even if the record keeper was powerful enough to silence her with a single strike, Alisa would not just survive… she would walk out of the library with every drop of information she needed to make her master’s retaliation against the guardians bloom. LiteratureI Will (An Outer Demons Poem)"I will never let the power, pride and legacy of my people fall Into the same abyss nearly successful in erasing us from history. Those who have branded us with no remorse will know the truth, Written plainly across the same land they deface without care. Monster is what they will call me, tyrant whipping around with it Like a ring of fire they expect me to set their cities ablaze with. Let the ignorant point their fingers, may every wall display my face: Come for my head if you dare, stand in my way and my lone regret Will be just how many like you have grown content with artificial light. I will shine real light on this world, pick up those pieces stepped over Just like every outcast whose wildest dream is someone caring. Their dream will come true... and the ones who created this nightmare Shall know a terror from which they can never wake up." LiteratureHellfire Back of Book Description (Idea One) It’s often feared or stated that the world as we know it is going to Hell, but what if we had the opposite problem? Master Zakura, queen of the proud race of demons and the planet Trear, has plenty of her own problems. War against her world’s guardian spirit has reduced her people to merely four, and the staggering list of losses is topped by her dear husband Vadan. Because of his sacrifice, Zakura stands alongside her two daughters and royal messenger who’s as resilient as he is dumbly lucky. There is some good news though: the rest of their race is only dead in one sense of the word. When a demon dies, their body is lost but they live on through the indestructible essence that is Hellfire. Every single one of the fallen demons survives in this way, and so Zakura knows there is a chance to resurrect her people. Except there is another problem, one the queen had oh so dearly hoped she would never have to stare down again: in order to realize that dream, they must cross the sacredHellfire 2024 Ideas
LiteratureHellfire: Chapter 1-1 Chapter One: Running Towards, Running Away The darkness surrounding her was so great, she wouldn't have been able to see her hand if she clamped it over her face. Her left ear picked up the faintest of footsteps behind her, but she remained perfectly still with arms raised and knees bent. In her mind she could see two columns close to where she heard the footstep; so many times had she trained in the sprawling room with a hundred columns placed in locations of varying distance from one another that she'd memorized where each and every one of them stood. As she expected, something had leaped between the two columns to move along the unseen c2020-21 Hellfire Draft

There have been attempts to enter the temple in the past, but all efforts to unseal the entrance have been in vain. Now that the largest recorded earthquake in that region has struck, there are those who believe the legends and fear the seal has been breached. "Why did her vacation have to end so quickly?" "You know," Lily said with a roll of her eyes, "calling it a vacation doesn't seem accurate, seeing as all we really did was dye hair, go to the hospital, stuff our faces and get that old TV out of storage to watch bad horror movies." "Raina's reactions were better than the actual movies," Alicia said with loud giggling. "She acted like she'd never even heard of horror films before!" If you think fate’s got your back Or will stop to cut you some slack Then I’ve got some news to pass: Soon enough you’ll be seeing your ass Along with an upside down world ‘Cause this life will have you hurled Away from your path so what do you do? You tell the world it don’t have a damn clue, Can’t stop you now that you’re done dreaming, Ready to take action instead of scheming. Action is the only force keeping us all going, The flow of water so fast; don’t stop rowing! We’re all here to fight and that’s why I hold My head up high with others just as bold, Just as accepting of what so many deny: At any given second, we all might die. LiteratureEven Dark Souls DreamThe moon was splitting into two, but she would not let the split be complete. Her fading vision was willed into the fragment of steadiness she could muster, the same true for her grass-coated legs as they stumbled but never surrendered to weariness. She trampled over the sky-blue hood formerly completing what was her hoodie; gray eyes stayed locked on the moon, determined to regain steady vision before she returned to the green clearing. Not even the wind was present to offer her company; she had only the rustling of grass against her bare feet. Blonde hair long knocked out of its braided ponytail stayed in motion regardless, her body refusing to lose the battle for proper battle posture. One hand scratched across the knuckles drifted closer to the left pocket of her gray sweatpants as the two moons became one again; she scanned the clearing and found nothing, but she knew that couldn’t be. The chill of November’s nights couldn’t keep away beads of sweat slipping down her forehead. AInktober 2023

LiteratureThe Home Of Miss MayAll around the forest, people frolic in the sun; But as soon as their day ends, my day begins. Creepy creatures come on out to play, And if playtime gets too rough, they see the doctor. Every morning, they hide in the trees, beneath the ground, Waiting to have fun as soon as that pesky sun falls. Goblins look for shiny things, ghosts race through trees, And I'm here for them should any accidents happen. I bandage wings, apply invisible band-aids, And feed the littlest of patients yummy slug jelly. LiteratureBurdened Souls: Ch. 7- A World of Weirdoes"So that is why we crossed paths with Dr. Vanders while searching for Amethyst." Raina and Bethany walked down the hospital hallway, the former clad in a white hospital gown and the latter wearing a lab coat and lavender scrubs. The two of them stepped into an elevator that they had to themselves; Bethany pushed for the third floor, her other hand supporting Raina's shoulder. "I am still getting used to this lurching feeling," Raina said as the elevator ascended, her light green eyes on Raina. "When you work here," Bethany replied with a laugh, "getting used to it is easy." Raina laughed as well. "Speaking of getting used to, I can definBurdened Souls COMPLETE
