I've tried to make it a point as a creator to be more inclusive in my work. It's something that I can do with my white privilege, to try to give equal or even more representation of colored people in my stories, without stereotyping any of them. There is such incredible diversity out in the world. Everyone deserves to be seen and heard.

There are some interesting parallels between our story and what's going on in the world. RoR details the struggles of a war-torn city and the citizens fighting against the oppression of a corrupt police force. But we don't demonize either side. There are good cops. There are bad ones. There are bad rebels, and good ones. And so many people who are caught in between. We have disabled characters, interracial romances, lgbtq+ folks, those who are religious and not. Personalities and beliefs vary greatly amongst them. The characters are all very grey and complicated, as we are as humans.
