Pac-Man Platformers by SuperStarfy2002 on DeviantArt (original) (raw)

ahh. Pac-Man Platformers, honestly the best part of the pac-man franchise (in my honest to god personal opinion). aiight imma share the interesting shit, the general thoughts, and my thoughts on all of them...

Pac-Land (1984) not only was it based off the Hanna-Barbera cartoon back in 1982, but it also inspired Super Mario Bros. for the NES, also released 1 year after Pac-Land too, and of course it's a stage in Smash Bros. I think it's a pretty enjoyable game with hidden secrets, a catchy theme song, and the awesome looking sprites for all the characters.

Pac-in-Time (1994) just like with Mario 2 and Doki Doki Panic, the game was a reskin of fury of the furries (no not those kind of furries) where you play as 4 or 5 different colors of hairballs with unique abilities, but in Pac-In-Time's case, Pac-Man has been transported to 1975 and has been turned into a kid and needs to venture off to go back to the present. Pac-Man has the abilities as the furries in FotF, he has the mini kamehamehas, the rope, blowing underwater bubbles, and using his hammer (in the SNES version) or chomping stuff (in the GB/DOS version). This game is weird and somewhat difficult in terms of levels and controls, but also fun to play too. and there's a scrapped game gear port of Pac-In-Time as well which is the same as the GB and DOS versions

Pac-Man World (1999) originally it was gonna be Pac-Man: Ghost Zone, where a kid was playing pacman and gets sucked into an arcade machine (just to summarize), but that was scrapped. Pac-Man World was made for Pac-Man's 20th Anniversary. The plot starts off with Pac-Man's family being abducted, captured, kid/dognapped, then Pac-Man finds his birthday in ruins and goes to ghost island to confront the ghosts and Toc-Man (or Orson). this is one of my favorite Pac-Man games in terms of spin offs and platformers, though i wish i played more of the console version than the GBA version, that and i wish this got an HD remake (because literally every pacman fan wants it) also Anubis Rex sucks major ass

Pac-Man World 2 (2002) the sequel to the first Pac-Man World, The golden fruit has been taken from the tree by the 4 main pac-man ghost and thus summoned Spooky, Pac-Man must go through the forest, snowy terrains, volcanoes, and the creepy woods to retrieve the golden fruit and stop Spooky. This game was said to be the best Pac-Man game not only in the World trilogy, but also the franchise (though it sold poorly in japan from what i've heard) and just like with PMW1, i wish i played the console versions, i mean i haven't played the console versions at all...until around 2019 and 2022 on the Gamecube and my god i loved it so much but damn the water levels and Clyde the red ghost are insanely hard!

Pac-Man World 3 (2005) the three-quel of the pac-man world trilogy, and probably the mediocre one too. this was originally going to be called "Pac-Man Adventures" not only that but it also involved Don Bluth with the art concept for Pac-Man showing off angry expressions, though that was scrapped. the story for this game is Pac-Man was being teleported around Pac-Village by Orson on his 25th Anniversary to save Pac-Village and the Spectral Realm from Erwin. this game was pretty ok for me, it was the 2nd Pac-Man world game i played (i played PMW1 on GBA back then) though the 1st Erwin boss was a pain in the anus

Pac-Man and The Ghostly Adventures (2013) based off the show that's pretty much overhated at this point (i'm sure most would agree right?) the plot for this is that Sir Cumfrence has 3 golden orbs and Betrayus is attacking Pac-World. Fun fact, the japanese version for 1 and 2 are called Pac-World 1 and 2...strange isn't it. i love this game, it may not be pacman world but boy they're really good. people treat this game like it's the sonic 4 or sonic boom of the series despite the fact that this was before, and sonic boom's games were shit, that and there were some pacman fans saying "hurrdy durr son't buy it because it's not pac-man world duuh"

Pac-Man and The Ghostly Adventures 2 (2014) the sequel to the first GA title and plays similarly to the first, and the events are after the 2nd season. as i said with PMATGA1 it's awesome, inferior to the world games but still enjoyable, but of course there were some people complaining and whining about it too, and some were something along the lines of "whyyyyyy! why did it get a sequal?! WHYYYYYY!?" and "namco is just digging a deeper hole for pacman at this point huh" and all that stupid crap. honestly people like that get on my nerves

Pac-Man World Re-Pac (2022) wow...the impossible actually happened...the Pac is Back...for real this time! Pac-Man fans are eating good now! we finally got a remake of Pac-Man World and it's amazing, at first when it came out not only were the vast majority of the tracks compressed remixes but they didn't even credit the OG PMW team that made the game. hell, Under Pressure got a poor compressed remix too despite the fact that had an uncompressed track to begin with, but thankfully it got patched after Bandai Namco took note of it, and not only is the team credited, and the music was uncompressed (as well as Under Pressure), but we even got a jukebox and DLC Chrome Noir Metal Pac-Man Skin which i use a lot. though they could have done more with that than just the one skin. oh and Toc-Man is back and he has a pretty goated redesign. he looks cleaner, has spikes on his robotic gloves and boots, and even a jetpack...but no nose weirdly enough...but anyways, the story is the same as it was in the original PS1 game except the execution of the family getting captured is not only different but apparently the ghosts are absolutely blind (except for Pinky) as they think that Pac-Man's Family is the man himself...even the Dog and Pooka.

PMW:RP (bonus section) Oh and due to legal issues with Ms. Pac-Man and AtGames....fuck them BTW she as well as Pac-Jr. Pac-Baby and even Chomp Chomp had to be replaced....well kinda. Ms. Pac's stand in is Pac-Mom who firstly, is NOT. i repeat NOT Pac-Man's mother who has an uncanny (keep that in mind: uncanny) resemblance to Pac-Master's Wife from Pac 'N Roll but she has pupils rather than the pie eyes Pac-Man and no nose or even eyebrows. Pac-Baby has been replaced with Pac-Sis who wears pink gloves and foot-ware, and a flower and has a rattle. the design is great, but like Pac-Mom, she also has pupils and no nose, funny how it's the only 2 of the pac-females that have that sort of problem. Pac-Junior is now Pac-Boy who honestly looks kinda like Pac-Junior, but with a different hat and red boots like Pac-Man he and Pac-Sis have blush marks which kinda fits for them. Lastly, Chomp Chomp is renamed Pac-Buddy....he's 99.9% the exact same dog, the ONLY difference is that he has a yellow tail tip as opposed to a white one, but yeah, that's it. out of the 4 replacements, Pac-Boy and Buddy are the best ones. Pac-Mom and Pac-Sis really need the Sonic Movie design treatment. WAIT A MINUTE i forgot about professor pac-man!....uhh he's the same.Pac 'N Roll (2005) this game stars Pac-Man in his younger years in the game where he goes off to Pac-Master's house for the school holidays and to the Power Pellet Harvest Festival which is later ruined thanks to the Ghost Gang and the main antagonist of the game, Golvis. a rock n roll ghost (that suffers from the Mario Boss Syndrome, which means you'll have to eat him 3 times after eating 3 power pellets) who has turned the pac-civilians into limbless balls and later confronted by a fairy named Krystal (not to be confused with the one from the Star Fox series) and so Pac-Man has to venture to 6-7 locations to save Pac-Master and his family and put a stop to golvis' evil plans. oh and Pac-Girl is basically Young Ms. Pac-Man btw. this game has you use the touch screen to move pac-man, and there are 128 diamonds you have to collect in this game, most of which require eating all of the dots, beating challenges and time trials...lemme tell ya it ain't easy. unless if you have an Action Replay on you. game play however is kinda hard. especially for time trials. but it'll all be worth it lol. And of course i have to talk about the remix version. most of it is the same except they took out 2 worlds, Ghost Land and Pac-Moon. that and the fact that this game is getting a re-release on Pac-Man Museum+

Pac-Man Tilt (2011) as part of the Pac-Man and Galaga Dimensions 3ds game along with Pac-Man CE, and a Pac-Man 3D Movie (aka the PMATGA Pilot) and the original pac-man and the galaga games. this game uses tilt controls which is practically required in this game. you can use this to move pac-man faster or use it for puzzles and obstacles. there are also power pellets that you can actually save for later when you encounter ghosts. first time playing this game tho was...kinda hard. and unfortunately it won't be on Pac-Man Museum Plus...
