He stands there Watching over your bed Waiting for you to make a move He stands there, knowing full well you sense his presence You can make out his imposing silhouette Despite always noticing him in the darkness when the lights disappear He is always watching Always waiting Always expecting He is an ominous fellow Staring without eyes Standing in silence Ready to pounce Once, he pinned you down in bed when you woke up in the middle of the night Making it clear he was not letting you go Yet he did not harm you You resisted a little Then gave up as you were tired anyway and let him be When you awoke again He was gone You wondered
