I finally finished this. Here is Lilly enjoying a suspenseful story. "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow", is what she is reading. I do have a copy of this book from the time period in which this story takes place so I was able to use it for reference in this picture. The page in the background is the excerpt she is reading, copied word for word from the copy I have at home. I tried to use the same font that is in the book as well.
Anyway Lilly is from my pioneer series that I'm working on. She lives somewhere in the Midwest in the late 1800's. About 1880 when the story takes place. She has 4 brothers, Robert, Richard, Gilbert, and (the only one I have yet to introduce) Benji. Lilly enjoys reading and is not very sociable as she lives on a farm outside of town and is mostly tasked with the more difficult chores of the farm and raising her brothers as her mother is dead and papa is often away. This story is co-written with BrianaNorman22 who sits with me and comes up with hilarious scenarios, always resulting in ridiculous laughter and her yelling, "Write that down!"
