Wanted to do a piece with ambitious lighting and an actual background, for a change
I imagine this to be a slightly older Akarai, just basking in the serenity of a bright full moon in a quiet clearing.

this one ended up being quite a journey, as I really struggle with night scenes with watercolours because the colours won't stay "pure" the way I want them to. I also had to balance trying to get the values dark enough and trying to keep that luminous quality that watercolours have. I almost scrapped the piece at several stages of colouring, but in the end I'm glad I pushed through.

Made on bamboo paper with watercolours, india ink, some microns and watercolour pencils.
