Secret identities are crucial for superheroes because their non-powered relatives or those without Batman-like kung fu skills and gadgets could become easy targets for kidnapping or assassination by ruthless supervillains and criminal organizations. If a superhero were to reveal their secret identity in public news, they will become vulnerable to extreme stress from cultists,obsessive fans,persecution,selfish civilian's demands and Paparazzis, even if the villainous group believed that they would not win in a direct confrontation with them. as, what happened to main evil Superman-expy character from Irredeemable's comics.
