I feel like the DD (Duplex Drive) Tank gets a bad rep reinforced by media like "Saving Private Ryan" where many didn't make it Omaha beach due them being deployed much farther from the beach and foundering in the choppier waters there. But on the other beaches Utah, Juno, Gold, and Sword a lot more of the DD Tanks there made it to shore and helped to establish a beachhead alongside other specialist tanks (Hobart's Funnies) and begin the long road to victory against tyranny.
