Oh man...this was a dooy...but I'll get to that later. Hello everyone it's been a while. Don't worry, I'm still coloring and working on other stuff as well. So after a break, I can finally work again and here we see my 214th color commission and while it's more LAMA gear, this time it's special as this time we gotten Fluttershy, Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash from the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic series. So remember the LAMA Ballot I had a while back and these three were part of the ballot, well here they are...although in the original ballot I originally planned to have them in more human forms but instead they are in the Equestria Girls form with...meh, I don't mind.

Also this is the first time that I get to actually talk about Friendship is Magic in general...*sigh*...I like the show ^^;

Yep, I was first curious about the show due to it's artstyle and the attention it's getting and after checking it out, I love the characters and the animation, they were so simple but clean that I couldn't help but to continue watching the series. I'm not a brony by any means as I wasn't a super fan of it, but I do like the series even though it's not perfect. Still I got to give the team props for making it for 7 season and they are still making good episodes and not burned out exactly (not every episode is gold yes but most of them are enjoyable).

As for the spin off Equestria Girls...meh, I only watch the first movie and didn't watch anything else from that part of the series. I mean I don't hate the movie or the spinoff as I get way the team who made the show had to work on this because it's something that Hasbro forced them to do because they have to sale toys to make money. And for what they did with it wasn't bad, heck they even poke fun of it at times...but man the ending was sap ^^; Overall, I'm indifferent but I do see why people like this spin off

Anyways the story (Keep in mind, I only have knowledge of the first movie so if I say something that doesn't line up with the rest of the series, I apologize ^^; ) Twilight, Rainbow, and Fluttershy are looking for the legendary Sea Ponies so that Twilight could study them (which by the way, Seven Seasons in, and they haven't even pulled out the Sea Ponies characters which...why? I mean it's impressive to go that long without using them but why? ) So they shorten their hair (don't worry, Twilight has magic to help them grow them back), gear up in LAMA gear and dived under. After some time of admiring the underwater world, some hijinks and other stuff, they found two Sea Ponies as Twilight gotten too excited and accidently scared them off. Thankfully Fluttershy is there to help talked to them and turns out they speak the same lanuage as the Girls which Twilight apologize to them but ask if she could study them as not much is known about them which they agree. So while Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash do other still like Rainbow swimming with a Dolphin and Fluttershy talking to some of the sea life and having fun, Twilight is recording the Sea Ponies just being normal with...*looks at Twilight's hand* Tomoyo's video camera? Why is this camera becoming so popular!? What does the Daidouji company mass produce these cameras so that everyone could have them...but I digress ^^;

That's the story now for the coloring because....oh....OOOOHHHH....*Headdesks on the table and makes weird noises with my mouth*...If you know my coloring policy, it's that if the line art is close to the original style it was based on, then I try my best to color it as close to the original series as I can. When I was coloring this I kind of thought that seeing how the series mainly used base colors on their characters, I kind of guessed that I could just put base colors on there and be done with it, but seeing how this is a LAMA picture I would like to do something more to it than just base colors and that there's got to be a bit more to the Friendship is Magic color style that I could mimic...and I was right...unfortunately. Looking at the series, it turns out that not only are the backgrounds don't have any lines but all the character's lines are colored it instead of having black lines and no lines...so like a fool I actually attempted to completely change my coloring style and try to make this picture as close to the original Friendship is Magic style as I can...it took me NINE DAYS to actually get it right after I put the base colors in. I went into every single layer and remove lines and polish all the edges and put in additional effects if needed. This resulted in a lineless background as well as a near color line art for the characters and animals. I say near because I actually try to redo their eyes to make them match the show but in the end I couldn't...but I was close alright cut me some slack ^^;

Overall, while I'm very glad I was able to color this and completely change my style to match the show, now wasn't the best time to do so as I got other works that I needed to do and I got to hurry. If you guys have any suggestions to make this style a bit faster...I would actually like to hear it as it would save me so much trouble ^^; Again, this was great to do but man ^^;
