"Erskine found himself flinching again, realizing how sharp a tongue his superior had. But now wasn't the time to care.
"Well I'm risking it now," he said with finality, referring to her first accusation before taking a place next to her. "Listen, I'm going to do everything I can to get you home before sundown. If I can't, well... I'll keep you safe for as long as I can but you might have to run if things get bad. Can you walk? You can lean on me, but we have to go now, we don't have much light left!"
;asldfkj THE SIZES CAME OUT SO WROOOONG OTL I didn't mean to make it like that. It's just that, Paige is supposed to be the size of a growing student and Erskine's as tall as a somali and I just kind of got things a little too exaggerated. That and Paige is short-furred and emaciated while Erskine's still at fair health -and- fluffy and augh
Fail
Also I hated drawing Paige like this, she was in such horrible shape when he found her. ;-; Starving, messy, and with all the fur off her paws practically chewed off.
Anyways I still kind of liked the sketch so I'm uploading it. This is the scene from "Unexpected Rescue (part I)" where Erskine finds a starving Paige on the streets and tries to get her to safety before the Infected start coming out. It was inspired by the above-quote, which surprised me while I was cleaning up the note rp to submit in the first place. Erskine never said we might have to run, but you. And was essentially saying 'Hey if the Infected catch up with us I may have to stay behind and get my @ss kicked to death. Will you be able to get back home by yourself?' Characters surprise you, and in this case I was taken aback by Ersk's blunt disregard for his own safety. While Paige was railing him with insults
I guess he's the kind of guy that people would reeeaaally love in a D&D campaign or something. You know, that one character that would go "Possible booby traps? I should probably go first, you guys stay back." Without so much as batting an eye.
