Description

To the left, the classic lines of the MG Midget as they looked when the final few of these age old machines left the company's Abington works prior to its closure in 1980, a symbol of how far the mighty had fallen and how the days of traditional drop-top sports cars had become dreary shadows of their former selves.

On the right, the new generation of drop-top sports cars in the form of the MG F. The MG F was the company's response to the rise of highly reliable and fun roadsters such as the Mazda MX5, becoming the first true traditional MG sports car since the end of the Midget's production 14 years earlier.
