I'm doing the pokedex challenge and drawing all the pokemon, if anyone else is doing it I'd love to watch you!

Are you interested in a contest idea? you may have to tweak it but it would be good for story writers and comic drawing people, altho i wouldnt put it past someone to make "normal" art with this.

How is that violating rules if they state they are not theirs?

Because you cannot post official copyrighted artwork here, the rules prohibit it. They were also selling them, which can become a problem beyond dA.

For the small currency on DA! As long as they give credit, I don't think it is a problem! Personally, it is just like using a base! They are not selling it for real money and you might as well say people cannot draw pokemon because they did not invent it!
