In Defense of Ariel: part 1

Greetings to you all. As you probably know already from my favorites list, I love mermaids and mermen. Like a lot of you out there, I got my start in liking these aquatic people, at the age of four, from Walt Disney’s classic movie “The Little Mermaid.” It’s a movie that to this day I enjoy. I love the world the people at Disney created. The well-drawn undersea world of merpeople is simply spectacular. Like so many others, Ariel has always been my favorite Disney princess. With her kind personality, curiosity, wonderful singing, and of course the fact that she is a mermaid always made here cool in my book. However, one thing that I have noticed is that there are a great many who have one big critique about her, and it is one that even some who are her diehard fans have. This is that she was a fool for giving up all that she had for a guy she only just met. While there is no escaping that Ariel may have been a bit boneheaded, too many overlook much of the circumstances and other
