DRAWN TO YOU

When I sketch a sphere I can create The shape of your face Then with a few details I add your lips, nose, eyes The arch of your brows The contour of your cheeks All the way down To your sculpted chin With two lines I can define The nape of your neck A shade of blue Is swirled in your hair Then again it could be Pink or purple I really don't care I could find you anywhere Within the graphite Of my pencil Or the ink in my pen Someday you will be The charcoal smeared Across the paper But I could never erase Your imperfections Or your flaws From such a fine portrait I have studied your features And I have fully captured Your exact likeness With the proper perspective Your pretty picture Will be a work of art Marcie Wyatt
