WORK-IN-PROGRESS series: Grandpa Munster by TrevorGrove on DeviantArt (original) (raw)

I was asked if I could show my process more, and I'm going to try to post old WIP shots of my stuff, if I have them. I don't have a lot of the really ugly stuff, to be honest. I find a lot of my process really ugly and unappealing, up until a point. Obviously, I understand why it's interesting and educational, because I love that stuff from other artists....but when it comes to my own work, it's just awful to look at. Sometimes I don't even photograph stuff until it's looking OK because I get so put off to my own stuff.

Here is Grandpa Munster. This shows one of the pieces I blocked out in clay first, then molded and cast in wax....In this case, it wasn't for gesture, it was just because I needed to block it out quickly.

I'll try to post more of these,
Trev
