Description

The Administrative Palace of my hometown Satu Mare with his 97 meters is not only the highest building in Transylvania but the third highest building in this whole f...king Romania. Besides this fact, it is the ugliest building of the city and you can hardly find one who likes it.
Its history started back in the 1960's, the darkest times of the communist regime when the Romanian Communist Party decided to build a new city center instead the old one (that remembered of the old times before the communism), with a building that would be a new landmark for the city. The construction has begun in 1972. There were over 1,000 workers employed on the project, until 1984, when the building was completed. (1984... strange)
Almost 20 years after the fall of the communist regime in Romania (of course it wasn't a proper end of the era since the same a..hole politicians who stole all their fortune back then rule us now), the Administrative Palace still reminds some of the inhabitants of the city of the communism. The building is huge, ugly and at 80% non-functional, so I thought it was high time to give it to hell...
