I originally wasn't planning on doing Twilight at all for the alicorn AU. I already have a headcanon version of her, so what's the point. But I watched the series finale today, and I just had to do something. My headcanon version of Twi has a radically different color scheme to the cannon one. I am perfectly ok with that, in fact I'm a bit iffy in canon Twi's design, especially the hair. But to tell the truth, I'm also not entirely happy with the way mine stacks up in comparison. So, since I'm doing an AU anyway, I figured I'd take the chance to do another one.

In this AU, Twilight ascends first, in basically the same way as normal. But when her other friends ascend, it has a lasting effect on her. She becomes the alicorn of harmony magic, and serves as a linchpin for the combined magic of all the others. I'm still trying to work out exactly how everyone ascends in the first place, so bear with me.
