A refreshing character that was absolutely a pleasure to paint, part of a bigger project that I hope to be part of again with some more art!

A kitsune is a mythical creature from Japanese folklore, often depicted as a fox with magical abilities. Kitsune are believed to possess intelligence, long life and magical powers, which increase as they age. Some key points about them include shape-shifting and creating illusions, possessing people and generating fire or lightning. Some stories also attribute them with knowledge of the future!

These amazing creatures are often seen as either benevolent or malevolent. Benevolent kitsune, known as zenko (good foxes), are associated with the Shinto deity Inari, the god of rice, fertility, and prosperity. They are believed to bring good fortune and protection. Malevolent kitsune, known as nogitsune, are tricksters who use their powers to deceive or harm humans.
