She was originally meant to be Fluorescent Diamond's Spinel, a jester that was supposed to make her happy. But Flora was already aware she was a replacement for Pink, thus leaving her Spinel untouched for a few thousand years.

Fluorescent just can't see herself enjoying a clown that only continues to remind her of what she was meant to be. Spinel was essentially left to her own devices, trying to be the moral support for their planet. She's tries very hard to make others happy, but always feels like she's not good enough.

When she's happy, Spinel (I'll call her Glow) is a happy go lucky gem who wants to have many friends. She loves talking to others, playing games, and doing her usual clown act. When she's not, she deflates and detachs from those around her, shutting herself in a box so she won't have to face the negativity around her.
