Hello and welcome,

My name is Maikel, and I am a big fan of all kinds of crafts.

I´m a 32 year old nutball living in Vlaardingen, located in the Netherlands.

I graduated Mechanical engineering and work as a machine designer/developer.

(and yes, though the bracer is not in my gallery, I made it too. I'm still learning the leather craft, but I believe practice can make the difference)

Sorry I need to vent for a bit. Feel free to ignore. I decided to browse 'knight' related art. because I have an armor addiction and I'm a huge fantasy dork like that. Default browsing is set to 'most popular' but I have seen those before. I know it is hard for new art to reach those levels of popularity as some pieces who have been raking in the views for years and years by now. So, I thought, 'lets change that to 'newest' and see what's fresh. I am aware that this sometimes brings art that is, to put it bluntly, painfull to the eyes. But I was not prepared. Decided to give deviantart a fresh start. begin lurking again, slog through the literally thousands of deviations that have been stacking up in the +- 2 years i have been away from the site.

This is mainly a message to my local friends and watchers. Castlefest, the biggest fantasy-event in the country, is coming again this summer. As per usual, I'll be attending the full weekend and spending the nights in a scouting-house some 10 minutes away. We rent that place with a group of friends, but this year a couple of them have dropped out because they can't afford it this year. And so we've got vacancies that we're hoping to fill.
