i actually love this piece! when i started making it, was a little tough to make the scene night-time-ish. but once i overcame that hurdle with the bright sunny grass, it just flowed together so well.

i didn't even have to worry about it anymore because the blue hues complemented the blue roan so well. i smudged the body, then painted a black mane. highlighted with silver and moved on to the tail. smudged out the tail, darkened it to black, added silver highlights.

in between all that i dodged the moonlight glow on the horse's body. with a soft big brush and also with a strong small brush size along the edge of the body. i darkened the left side of it to create a realistic dark shadow where the light doesn't hit.
