First Appearance: Luigi's Mansion (Gamecube 2001)

The leader of all the boos in the Haunted Mansion that Luigi enters, who kidnapped Mario when he arrived earlier to investigate. Using the Poltergust 3000, Luigi sought out all his Boo soldiers as well as the various portrait ghosts and made his way through the mansion until he would face King Boo in a final showdown. In the end, Boo was defeated and converted to a portrait. Somehow, he managed to escape, and continues to wreak havoc around Mushroom Kingdom, either as a boss battle, or as a rascally sporting competitor. He would later wreak havoc in Evershade Valley, destroying the Dark Moon, causing all the ghosts to go on a rampage, and kidnap Mario yet again. Luigi took up the Poltergust 5000 and thwarted King Boo's plans yet again in the end.

King Boo appears in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a Spirit, obtainable by enhancing the Boo Spirit.
