Fluttershy tattoo by Wankadoodles on DeviantArt (original) (raw)
So if you haven't been following my tumblr, then you won't know that I recently got this tattoo on my calf. It was a lot less painful than I thought it would be (and I was surprisingly extremely calm getting it considering I have a horrid fear of needles)
I'm a huge Fluttershy fan. The minute I saw her on the show I fell in love. But that's not the reason I got this. She's helped me, to be honest.
I have extreme anxiety when I'm in large crowds. Hell, if I'm just meeting new people I get to the point where I shake I'm so scared. But Fluttershy, this beautiful little yellow mare, has taught me two things in life.
First off, it's OK to stand up for yourself sometimes. And standing up for yourself doesn't make you a bitch. She stood up to a freaking DRAGON once. A DRAGON. If she can stand up to that, than I should be able to stand up for myself as well. And not be afraid to do so.
Secondly, she taught me that it's OK to be afraid of things. I have a terrible fear of needles and heights (more so heights) and it's kept me from doing things, but it's also gotten me bullied a lot in my life. Because I wasn't able to do the things other people could. And that always bugged me. But Fluttershy taught me that it's OK to be afraid of things. Because your fears are what make you who you are. You're no less of a person (or Pony!) because of your fears!
So yes. I plan on taking pictures in a few days when the blood washes out of the yellow (and it looks less angry and puffy) and put them on my tumblr. Which you can find here: horsecanada9.tumblr.com/
