Ireena Kolyana is the most recent reincarnation of Tatyana Ivanova, the vampire lord Strahd von Zarovich's object of desire. She is the daughter of the late burgomaster of Barovia, Kolyan Indirovich, and the sister of the current burgomaster, Ismark Kolyanovich.

Early Life

Ireena was the second-born child of Kolyan Indirovich and Natasha Nimirova. Her mother, Natasha, was an herbalist and midwife who trained Ireena in medicine. Natasha died when Ireena was thirteen.

Ireena was very close with her brother, Ismark, growing up. The two of them were inseparable as children, and Ismark trained Ireena with the sword. A skilled artist, Ireena always loved painting, singing, dancing, and needlework. In addition to the arts and swordwork, Ireena studied history, religion, and Elvish.
