After the accident at the wonderbolt race, Soarin decided to take some time in ponyville because if he'd fall from cloudsdale with his broken wing he wouldn't be able to fly, so, AppleJack decided her, to take him to the Apple farm, the pagasus quickly accepted and the two of them had a lot of time to spend together.
