What Is IoT Device Monitoring?
IoT device monitoring lets businesses keep watch on vast numbers of deployed IoT devices and billions of data points for two purposes: to gain actionable insights from those devices and processes, and to ensure the devices are functioning properly. With IoT monitoring, organizations can scale their IoT deployments with the assurance that they can track every device, monitor performance, get notification of security vulnerabilities, gain insights whenever needed, and perform predictive maintenance across their entire deployment.
IoT Device Management That Works for You
IoT device management is not just a nice idea. It’s mission critical. Today’s connected devices are smarter, more feature rich and edge-compute capable. They are the eyes, ears and communications supporting your application.
You need a remote device management solution that integrates fully with your network infrastructure to automate processes, keep tabs on activity across your living network, and give you command over those devices in groups and individually for updates, patches, security and troubleshooting.

Network Resiliency: Tools for Troubleshooting
Managing your device network is one thing when the network is up, but requires an out-of-band (OOB) management strategy in the event of network disruptions. Digi Remote Manager lets you remotely and securely access devices OOB, via console access. Network administrators have serial connection access through a combination of Digi RM's business-level service and cellular products running the Digi Accelerated Linux (DAL) operating system.
- Provides central access to remote devices, even when they are offline
- Enables secure out-of-band management via a serial connection
- Dynamic SIM cards automatically disallow incoming IP traffic, by design
- Communications through the console to Digi hardware passes through a pre-configured, device-initiated tunnel using TLS 1.2 encryption

Security Monitoring
Always on guard, software-defined protection safeguards a secure network and alerts you if key settings go astray. Digi RM’s Configuration Manager monitors device configurations across the network and includes settings so Digi RM can automatically remediate any changes. And with Digi TrustFence®, Digi RM enabled networks are protected at the highest levels. Download the TrustFence security brief

HIPAA & NERC CIP Compliance
Digi RM is a key component of HIPAA-compliant solutions. To meet HIPAA compliance, we recommend Digi RM as a conduit for secure patient data. Since it does not process health information, customers looking to implement a HIPAA solution do not need a Business Associate agreement signed, provided that they encrypt the data while it is passed through Digi RM.
