Heartstopper star's new movie delayed until 2024 (original) (raw)

Heartstopper star Sebastian Croft's new film How to Date Billy Walsh has had its release date delayed on Prime Video.

The film stars the actor (who also played young Ned Stark in Game of Thrones) Bridgerton's Charithra Chandran, Cobra Kai's Tanner Buchanan, Nick Frost, The Big Bang Theory's Kunal Nayyar, Guz Khan, Motherland's Lucy Punch and newcomer Daisy Jelley.

It will now be released in 2024, after originally being scheduled for September 8, 2023.

How to Date Billy Walsh follows teenagers Archie and Amelia (Croft and Chandran, respectively), who have been friends for years. The thing is, Archie is secretly in love with Amelia and has been for years.

As he plans to finally tell her, she falls for new American transfer student Billy Walsh (Buchanan). Archie decides to try all manners of tricks to keep the two apart and sabotage their chances of getting together, but not only will his plans have the opposite effect, he might also end up destroying his years-long friendship.

Some images from the film have also been released, showing our main character covered in some sort of gunk on stage. Is this some sort of _Carrie_-esque scenario?

The film has been directed by Alex Sanjiv Pillai, who has worked on episodes of Bridgerton, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Walker, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, and Merlin.

Sebastian Croft can also be seen in the second season of Heartstopper, which dropped on Netflix earlier this month.

Speaking about what we can expect, creator Alice Oseman recently said: "Season 2's... aim was to capture the joy and the magic of season 1 while also feeling that the characters have grown up and matured a little bit, so we're exploring some things that are maybe a little bit darker than season 1."

How to Date Billy Walsh will drop on Prime Video in 2024.
