Emmerdale confirms Cain Dingle operation outcome in early ITVX release (original) (raw)

Emmerdale spoilers follow for Monday’s episode (11 May), which is available to watch now on streaming service ITVX and YouTube and hasn’t yet aired on ITV1.

Emmerdale confirms the outcome of Cain Dingle’s operation tonight, as the popular character undergoes a procedure to treat his aggressive prostate cancer. It’s a tense episode for Moira, Kyle, Isaac and the rest of Cain’s family as they anxiously wait for news from the hospital…

Cain’s prostatectomy has been scheduled for a while but was delayed when he was the victim of a serious car accident and was left worrying that the cancer might spread the longer the procedure is put off.

The day of the surgery arrives tonight though, and worried Cain and Moira try to be strong for each other – with Moira reassuring her husband that she will be there when he wakes up from his operation.

Meanwhile at the café, Kyle says to Sam, Belle and Caleb that he is worried about what’s going to happen to his dad, and Isaac insists that he wants to go to the hospital as well.

Despite the Dingles rallying around him over breakfast, Kyle rushes out and heads over to see his dad. Cain promises him that he is going to be fine and urges his son to be strong for him.

At the hospital, Moira and the boys wait with Cain until it is time for the operation. Kyle follows his dad to say one last goodbye to him but is stunned when he overhears Cain telling the nurse, "If anything happens to me, tell my family I love them."

Moira later finds Kyle crying in the waiting room, and he tells her what he heard – admitting that he is scared his dad is going to die, especially because his mum Amy recently died in this very hospital.

Kyle is reassured by Moira, and he later helps to calm down nervous Isaac by buying him a magazine. They are then relieved to be told the doctor the good news that Cain’s operation went well – an update that is also relayed to the Dingles waiting in the pub.

Cain wakes up with Moira by his side, telling him that everything has gone to plan. But as the nurse checks his new catheter, Cain looks anxious – and it could be a long round ahead for him...
