Doctor Who confirms Jonathan Groff character in mysterious episode 'Rogue' (original) (raw)
Doctor Who spoilers follow.
Doctor Who has confirmed Frozen star Jonathan Groff's character in an upcoming episode.
The BBC first unveiled a sneak peek at Groff on set alongside Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson — all in elegant dress — over a year ago but have managed to keep the actor's character secret until now.
An official listing for the June 8 episode 'Rogue' confirms that Groff will be playing the title character, who is described as a "mysterious bounty hunter".
A synopsis for the show's Bridgerton episode reveals: "The Doctor and Ruby land in 1813, where guests at a duchess’s party are being murdered and a mysterious bounty hunter called Rogue is about to change the Doctor’s life forever."

This episode will also feature another guest appearance for Susan Twist, who has been making recurring cameos throughout the entire season.
This time around, the actor will be playing The Portrait — which sounds just as intriguing as her previous characters Ambulance, Hiker and Penny Pepper-Bean (among others).
The guest cast for 'Rogue' includes Paul Forman (Emily in Paris), Camilla Aiko (Fifteen-Love), Maxim Ays (Sanditon) and Indira Varma (Game of Thrones) as the villainous Duchess of Pemberton.

The episode has been penned by the writing duo Kate Herron (Loki) and Briony Redman (Miss Universe), with Ben Chessell (Giri/Haji) directing.
'Rogue' is the last stop for Doctor Who before the epic two-part finale 'The Legend of Ruby Sunday' and 'Empire of Death', which will be screened in cinemas as well as on TV.
Showrunner Russell T Davies has already teased that the two-part finale will feature the "strangest villain", in addition to long-awaited answers on Ruby Sunday's origins.
Doctor Who debuts new episodes at midnight on Saturday, airing on BBC One in the UK and Disney+ elsewhere. Classic episodes of Doctor Who are available on BBC iPlayer in the UK.
