Strictly's Rylan Clark and Judge Rinder team up for new travel show (original) (raw)
Former Strictly Come Dancing stars Rylan Clark and Rob Rinder are set to head off on a Grand Tour across Europe for a new BBC show.
Currently titled Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour, the series will see the pair follow in the footsteps of British aristocrats such as Lord Byron, who travelled abroad on a 'Grand Tour' as they became adults.
The pair will use Lord Byron's poems and letters to guide them along the way, stopping in Venice, Florence and Rome. The pair will also partake in activities such as glass blowing, visiting ancient ruins and seeing iconic paintings.
Speaking about the new show in a statement, Rylan promised that it wouldn't be a stereotypical 'Brits abroad' holiday but would focus around Italy's rich cultural history.

"When I found out that Rob and I actually get to go travelling around Italy for the Grand Tour, I couldn't have packed my suitcase quicker," he said.
"We're not going to be your typical Brits abroad though, as we properly immerse ourselves in all of Italy's cultural offerings. Rob will be teaching me all about Italian history and art as we follow in the footsteps of the cultural greats, while I show Rob how to dance on bars."
Rob added: "Italy is so rich in art and culture and I can't wait to get stuck in, seeing some of the finest things the country has to offer. The Grand Tour is iconic, especially as we'll be following in the footsteps of some of history’s biggest cultural contributors.
"While Rylan and I almost certainly have different intentions for our trip, I can’t think of anyone I’d rather do this journey with."

Following his exit as host of BBC Two show Strictly: It Takes Two in April, Rylan began hosting a brand new podcast series for the broadcaster. Titled How to Be a Man, the series allows him to unpack modern masculinity through interviews with celebrities and prominent figures.
Debuting on Radio 4 last month, the presenter has spoken to the likes of Amir Khan, Hamza Yassin and CBBC presenter Kit Brown.
