News of Cat Deeley's alleged appointment to This Morning was first reported by The Sun, with the publication basing their report on inside sources.

This Morning has seen a number of rotating celebrity guest presenters step in to host the show following the departure of Holly Willoughby in early October. In a statement shared via Instagram, Holly confirmed she had quit This Morning after 14 years, making the decision for "me and my family".

This Morning's Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary have continued to present the ITV flagship programme on their set mornings. Craig Doyle, The Saturday's singer Rochelle Humes and Rylan Clark have also returned to co-host during the last month.

Cat Deeley previously stepped in as guest presenter on fellow ITV show Lorraine between 2020 and 2021, though this month marks the first time she'll be sitting on the This Morning sofa.

The TV presenter is best known for hosting SM:TV, Fame Academy and American talent contest So You Think You Can Dance.

This Morning airs on ITV on weekday mornings from 10am to 12:30pm.
