Cruel Summer finally releases season 2 trailer with new cast (original) (raw)

Cruel Summer season 2 spoilers follow.

Cruel Summer's second season has been teased in a brand new trailer, released ahead of its premiere next month.

The highly anticipated next instalment in the teen drama anthology series will welcome a brand-new cast led by Sadie Stanley and Lexi Underwood as close friends Megan and Isabella.

Their intense relationship is tested as they fall into an awkward love triangle with their friend Luke (Griffin Gluck), before their world is turned upside down when they find themselves caught up in a murder investigation.

In the trailer, the duo have to get their story straight about their involvement in their friend's death, before another body is found and they suddenly have to face their suspicions about each other.

Megan and Isabella can be seen covering up evidence, as their friendship is challenged and Luke is caught in the middle. Yet, it's hard to trust our young narrators, so it's likely that not everything is as it seems.

The lead actors are joined by KaDee Strickland, Lisa Yamada, Sean Blakemore and Paul Adelstein, who all feature in supporting roles.

The acclaimed first season of the Freeform series debuted back in 2021, and followed the mystery of Kate's (Olivia Holt) kidnapping right around the time of Jeannette's (Chiara Aurelia) rise in popularity.

While the original story was set in the 1990s, the new one is set a decade later around the early 2000s, as seen in the specific styles in the trailer.

The first season of Cruel Summer is the network's biggest premiere to date, so it was inevitable that the show would return following a similar format with a whole new mystery.

Cruel Summer season two will premiere on June 5, airing on Freeform in the US and Prime Video in the UK.
