This module provides multiple Linkback implementations for Drupal 8.
A linkback is a method for Web authors to obtain notifications when other authors link to one of their documents. This enables authors to keep track of who is linking to, or referring to, their articles. The four methods (Refback, Trackback, Pingback and Webmention) differ in how they accomplish this task.

This module defines a flexible Linkback entity (with storage backend API) which can use multiple handlers enabled at the same time. Implemented Linkback handlers are Webmention and Pingback so far in modules within this project. See Developer.md for a list of files, classes and functions in the main linkback module.
This module is under development

A few issues are holding off a tagged release. See #2758041: Linkback 8.x-alpha1 version for notes. - Linkback is a successor to Vinculum for Drupal 7.
- For Webmentions, excerpts are not fully polished yet. See #2866516: Store received linkback metainfo for more info.
- It is planned to make Linkback entities fieldable: #2871880: Make Linkback Entity / interface fieldable . The API for excerpts may change from current version
