Knee Osteoarthritis (OA)
Assessment, Diagnosis & Treatment
Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common form of arthritis and results usually from chronic degeneration, or “wear and tear”. The knee is one of the most common joints whereby this occurs. Symptoms usually include pain, swelling, stiffness and decreased range of motion. The quality of life for patients with knee OA can be very debilitating in the late stages. Treatment for Knee Osteoarthritis (OA) firstly involves an accurate diagnosis by means of radiological investigations.
Depending on the severity of knee OA, treatments are divided into non-surgical and surgical options. Non-surgical options include lifestyle adjustments, oral medications, corticosteroid injections and hyaluronic acid (HA) injections.

Tennis Elbow & Golfer’s Elbow
Assessment, Diagnosis & Treatment
Pain and stiffness felt over the outer elbow, along with weakness in the wrist or hand, can be symptoms of tennis elbow. The symptoms are the same for golfer’s elbow but occur on the inner elbow instead. Unlike their names suggest, tennis and golfer’s elbow do not happen only to tennis players and golfers. These conditions could occur to anyone whose job or hobby involves repetitive forearm and wrist use.
Treatments include oral medications, extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) and corticosteroid injections.

ESWT for Orthopaedic Conditions
Assessment, Diagnosis & Treatment
ESWT has been shown to be a good non-invasive treatment option for orthopaedic conditions and is an alternative worth undertaking for many patients who wish to avoid invasive treatments such as steroid injections or surgery.
ESWT is a non-invasive treatment method that uses high-energy acoustic waves to deliver a mechanical force to the body’s tissues. ESWT is an effective treatment option for several medical indications, including the treatment of kidney stones and gallstones, cardiac diseases, the field of men’s health (eg. erectile dysfunction, penile rejuvenation), and last but not least, musculoskeletal problems.
