Managing Energy, Water and Waste
We seek cost-effective opportunities to optimize energy use across our operations, including our offices and data centers. We also include environmental performance in the selection criteria for new offices and data centers, including an emphasis on buildings that maintain green building certifications, such as LEED and BREEAM. Fifteen of our offices are LEED-certified or other green building certified workspaces. Other initiatives include:
- Our new offices in Hyderabad, India, Kirkland, Washington, and Madrid Spain were designed to include green spaces to improve indoor air quality and create a welcoming environment for employees.
- Using LED lighting, automated room sensors, and efficient air conditioners to reduce energy use.
- Working with cloud partners committed to powering their data centers with renewable energy.
- Conserving water use through xeriscaping, use of recycled water for watering, and turf installations.
- Reducing waste through recycling, composting, and purchasing eco-friendly supplies, including rain gardens.
- Implementing responsible end-of-life processes for our hardware.
