International Cybersecurity Challenge (ICC) (original) (raw)
ENISA, together with regional and international organisations, decided to design and host for the first time an International Cybersecurity Challenge (ICC). The aim of the challenge is to attract young talent and raise awareness in the community, globally, on the education and skills needed in the area of cybersecurity.
Towards this direction, a Steering Committee comprising government and regional institutions, universities and research centres, designed a competition between teams from different regions. ENISA hosted the first ICC event in Greece, in 14-17 June 2022.
During ICC 2022, seven teams comprising more than 64 nations competed in a series of challenges such as, web application and system exploitation, cryptography, reverse engineering, hardware challenges and attack/defence challenges. Each region was represented at the competition by a team, comprising young talents from counties within the respective geographical areas. The regions were responsible for selecting and training team members. In 2023, ICC was hosted in San Diego, USA with more teams and countries expressing an interest to participate. More information on the ICC 2023 can be found here: https://www.ic3.games/.
ICC 2024 will take place at the end of October 2024.
The ICC brand is associated with the top cybersecurity talents of the world, and we expect ICC to become one of the key incubators of cybersecurity entrepreneurship and future top security experts in the world.
