Super Bowl 2025: Kendrick Lamar Disses Drake During Halftime Show Performance

Serena Williams was serving smooth moves at the 2025 Super Bowl.

As Kendrick Lamar made history by becoming the first solo hip-hop artist to headline the halftime show, he surprised viewers by spotlighting the 23-time Grand Slam champion while performing "Not Like Us" at the Caesars Superdome in Louisiana Feb. 9.

The "Humble" rapper performed the diss track—one of many aimed at Drake amid their ongoing feud—during his medley while Serena showed off her dance moves in a blue tennis skirt and matching top.

The athlete—who reportedly dated the OVO founder in 2015—gushed over her cameo following the performance featuring Samuel L. Jackson and Drake's other ex-girlfriend SZA. (The pair dated briefly in 2009.)

"Let's go Super Bowl halftime," Serena wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, alongside a clip of her getting photos taken. "I died a little!"

In a video, she quipped of her dance, "Man, I did not crip walk like that at Wimbledon. I would be fined!"

Serena—who shares daughters Olympia, 7, and Adira, 15 months, with husband Alexis Ohanian—had been a vocal fan of the track since its release in May, describing it as the "hit of the summer."

"I love that song. It's like the hit of the summer," the 43-year-old said at Essence Festival in July. "When they play that jam, I'm jamming. That jam is jamming."

She even poked fun at Kendrick and Drake’s explosive drama, which has since escalated to a lawsuit from the “God’s Plan” rapper aimed at Universal Music Group.

“If I’ve learned anything this year, it’s that none of us, not a single one of us, not even me, should ever pick a fight with Kendrick Lamar,” she said at the 2024 ESPY Awards days after Essence. “He will make your hometown not like you. The next time Drake sits courtside at a Raptors game, they’re going to Forrest Gump him. Seats taken.”
